Martha Jones begins as a medical student who becomes the Doctor’s time travelling companion after an incident at the hospital where she works. After well over a year of service at his side, Martha parts from the Doctor’s company as she cannot bear her own unrequited love for him. After returning to life on Earth, becoming engaged and finishing her medical degree, Martha finds a newfound level of independence when she is recruited into the paranormal military organisations UNIT, and briefly Torchwood. In a later appearance, she takes the surname Smith-Jones after having married fellow companion Mickey Smith and becoming a freelance alien hunter. Having faced the end of the world single-handedly during her time with the Doctor, Martha is recognised for her skills both in the field and in medicine.

Download Doctor Who – Season 1

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious, humanoid alien known as “the Doctor” who travels through time and space in his spacecraft, the TARDIS, which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, faces a variety of foes and rights wrongs.

The programme is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world, and as the “most successful” science fiction series of all time; it has become a cult television favourite and has influenced generations of British television professionals, many of whom grew up watching the series. It has received recognition from critics and the public as one of the finest British television programmes, including the BAFTA Award for Best Drama Series in 2006, and five consecutive wins at the National Television Awards since 2005, in the Drama category.

The programme originally ran from 1963 to 1989. After an unsuccessful attempt to revive regular production with a backdoor pilot in the form of a 1996 television film, the programme was successfully relaunched in 2005, produced in-house by BBC Wales in Cardiff.

Torchwood is a British science fiction television programme, created by Russell T Davies. It deals with the machinations and activities of the Cardiff branch of the fictional Torchwood Institute, who deal mainly with incidents involving extraterrestrials. An initial 13-part series was commissioned by the BBC as a spin-off from the 2005 revival of the long-running science fiction programme Doctor Who with which it is closely interlinked. The main cast consists of John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Burn Gorman, Naoko Mori and Gareth David-Lloyd.

Big changes in Doctor Who!

Yeah, that’s right. Changes.

Sometimes we don’t want changes… We get used to some things and then it is hard to leave them behind! Yet life goes on.

David Tennant, our 10th Doctor, said goodbye to his role on Doctor Who. The Doctor number 11 is Matt Smith: we all welcome him! He will do a great job for sure 😉

We’ll miss you, David!

Next, the series logo also changed! It’s more futuristic and brand new!

Now we have to wait until March, that’s when the 5th season will start. The writers of the scripts are also different.

Well, so all we can do is expect the best of Matt Smith &…… always remember the famous Allons-y! 🙂
